Ingredients: 1.5 oz Gin; 0.5 oz Mezcal; 0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice; 0.75 oz Simple Syrup

A sharp, botanical Gin Gimlet with a split-base twist of Mezcal—because sometimes you have to operate in the gray areas of the Republic's law.

Ingredients

1.5 oz Gin
0.5 oz Mezcal
0.75 oz Fresh Lime Juice
0.75 oz Simple Syrup

Instructions

Combine gin, mezcal, lime, and syrup in a shaker with plenty of ice.
Shake hard for about 12 seconds.
Double strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass to ensure no ice shards remain.

History

Based on the standard Gimlet formula (the Sour family), this 'Is That Legal?' version uses a smoky mezcal rinse/split to suggest the burning embers of a blockade.
