The Piña Verde
A tropical Sour-family riff from Erick Castro that swaps rum for high-proof Green Chartreuse—vibrant, herbaceous, and surprisingly beach-ready.
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Green Chartreuse
- 1.5 oz Pineapple juice
- 0.75 oz Lime juice
- 0.5 oz Cream of coconut
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake vigorously until well-chilled.
- Strain into a rocks glass over pebble ice (or crushed ice).
- Garnish with a generous mint sprig.
Glassware: Rocks or Mai Tai glass
Garnish: Large mint sprig and a pineapple wedge
History
Based on the Piña Colada but centered on the 130-cleric-made botanicals of Chartreuse; it’s a modern classic that proves the 'Verde' can handle the tropics.
